Warranties add a safety net for those times when your brand-new product needs repairing or if it breaks and it’s not your fault. The length of said warranties depends on the product itself and the company you’ve purchased from. ASUS’s ROG Ally has a warranty of 1 year in certain regions. However, recent announcements and customers taking to Reddit to discuss changes show that ASUS has made some changes to the warranty of ROG Ally users in North America. Let’s find out more.

If you’d like to find out more about ASUS’s handheld gaming consoles, then check out some of our other coverage on the topic, including a look at the confirmed information on the new ROG Ally X and a look at when the ROG Ally prices are expected to drop.

Has your ROG Ally warranty been extended?

Some users have taken to Reddit to express changes that have been made to their ROG Ally warranties. According to these users, their original one-year warranty has increased to two. Unfortunately, it looks like this development is only available for customers in North America, with other people commenting on the thread stating that their original plans have not changed.

This is why we suggest taking a look at your account before you make any assumptions about an extended warranty period, just to double-check. However, if you live in North America and have bought a ROG Ally recently then your warranty should now be two years.

In order to access this information you’ll have to log in to your ASUS account or use the ASUS app to look the the products you have purchased and see if anything has changed. ASUS also mentions in its statement below, that by heading to ASUS.com/us you can stay in the loop for future updates to come.

So if you like the sound of an extended warranty period but don’t live in North America then it’s a good idea to keep checking this page in case they add more regions to the list, though do note that the original warranty also varies by region (one user reports that Singapore already had 2 years, even before this change).
