ASUS joins list of growing motherboard brands to release BIOS updates for Intel boards

For a while now, Intel has been having a difficult time dealing with the instability issues in the 13th and 14th gen desktop processors. In order to fix the instability, Intel had promised to roll out a microcode fix to its partners in August.
According to some of the latest updates, several motherboard manufacturers, including Asus, have started releasing new firmware with the ‘0x129 microcode’ update. In fact, we tested the new instability patch and found out that it knocked off a sizable amount of points when it came to multi-core performance. However, take those results with a pinch of salt as we used a relatively new CPU that didn’t showcase some of the degradation signs that are being reported.
Asus' BIOS update for Intel boards has been released.
As per Juan Jose Guerrero's post on X (Twitter), Asus has started rolling out UEFI BIOS beta releases for Z790, Z690, B760, B760, W680 and more motherboards. Guerrero, who is the PR and partnership manager at Asus, has also provided the full list of motherboards that will be getting the UEFI BIOS updates.

In addition to this, Asus, in its response about the Intel instability issues, said that the company will assist its customers in mitigating the issue. “ASUS is aware of this issue and is actively assisting our customers in mitigating its impact,” the post on X read.
People who have Asus motherboards (the ones listed by Asus) can download the BIOS update using the My ASUS App on their Windows PC or phones. Before downloading, note that this is a beta patch, and the full release will be coming soon.
So far, Intel has been receiving backlash for the instability issues in its 13th and 14th generation CPUs. In fact, it is currently facing a class action lawsuit due to the issues.
While Intel has admitted that it does not know the root cause of the instability and that degraded CPUs can't be fixed, the company has been trying to resolve the issues. So far, it has issued BIOS updates, extended warranty, offered replacements, and bolstered its customer support to aid customers.
Amidst the chaos, Intel is gearing up to release the Core Ultra 200V CPUs in September, which will power thin and light laptops. Further, Intel is also working on the Arrow Lake CPUs, the release date of which remains unconfirmed.
