ASUS launches another gold-themed GPU but this time it’s the RTX 5080

Previously, we saw ASUS release a gold-plated RTX 5090 for the Middle East, and the plating alone was worth $700. However, this time around, a similar-looking RTX 5080 has been released, called the ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab Core OC.
There is no official mention of the RTX 5080 being covered in gold, like the RTX 5090 Dhahab; however, what we're wondering is whether there are any differences in this GPU compared to the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC.

ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC
At first glance, the only difference is the color scheme and the calligraphy on the card. Besides that, the specifications, design, features, size, and even the clock speeds are the same. So, the only appeal of getting this graphics card is for aesthetics.
However, hopefully, this shouldn't cost an eye-watering amount, as seen with the RTX 5090 Dhahab Core, since it isn't plated with real gold, at least there is no mention of that on ASUS's official page. That being said, we wouldn't be surprised if it does cost more than the standard version, and enthusiasts would be interested in grabbing it.
It also features the GPU-first mode, which activates when using the ROG Thor III or any ROG Strix Platinum series PSU, enhancing stability by up to 45%. This should ensure that even during resource-intensive tasks, a stable power supply is maintained to the GPU and other components.
That being said, these PSUs don't come cheap, as the ROG Thor III can set you back by $949.90. So, what that means is that to make use of this feature, you'll have to spend more, and we'd like to assume that the overall cost, including the price of the 5080 Dhahab, will be quite high.
