ASUS ROG monitor with ‘excellent WOLED panel and fantastic response time’ gets a welcome price cut
Table of Contents
If you’re on the hunt for one of the top-tier gaming monitors on the market, but want to grab it for less, then this is a great deal for you. Right now, one of our highest scoring monitors is going for $50 off, bringing its price down from $699.00 to $649.00. While that may not be the biggest saving in the world, it’s really the monitor itself that’s the real winner here, with the solid discount a welcome bonus.
This is up there with some of the best OLED monitors around and still impresses, despite being released back in 2024, with its incredibly picture quality, super-fast response times, and higher refresh rate. It’s the type of display that would pair perfectly with mid to high-end gaming PCs built for 1440p at high fps and ray-tracing.
ASUS ROG Strix 27” 1440P OLED Gaming Monitor (XG27AQDMG)
What we like about the ASUS ROG Strix 27″ OLED gaming monitor
We put this monitor through its paces in our testing lab and were seriously impressed, scoring it 4.5 stars. In particular we noted its fantastic contrast ratio, high color accuracy, and excellent response time and motion clarity. Add that to an overall brilliant build quality, and you’ve got everything you could want from a monitor in our view.
That said, as expected it’s slightly lacking when it comes to peak brightness, which is the same across most OLED displays, and there’s no USC-C power delivery, which would have been great for the higher price-point. But what really matters here is that this monitor is more than capable of showcasing your games at their best. Whether that’s higher fps gaming or producing life-like visuals for more atmospheric titles, enhanced by ray-tracing and HDR, this monitor is a great shout for the money.
- WOLED panel: This is a little different from OLED, and used a white OLED layer to essentially increase brightness and allow for excellent color reproduction. Importantly though, you’re getting some of the best contrast ratio out there.
- High refresh rate: 240Hz for up to 240 fps gaming, plus a super low response time of 0.03ms to ensure smooth on-screen motion.
- 99% DCI-P3 color coverage: This is up there with professional creative monitors and indicates very good color accuracy. For video editors and photographers, this a great sign.
- Perfect sizing and resolution: 27″ is ideal for making the 1440p resolution look crisp and clear, plus it’s small enough to not put you at a disadvantage when playing competitive games – especially first person shooters.
- 3 year warranty: And you’ve got a host of features designed to prevent burn-in too, meaning you can buy with confidence.

Who’s this deal for?
This monitor is certainly still an investment even with this current deal, but we’d say it’s worth it if you’re looking for the best of the best for your current 1440p gaming setup. If you’re planning on upgrading your PC to more of a 4K build sometime soon, we’d highly advise leaning towards one of ASUS’ 4K options, which will be basically the same, but higher-res, larger, and way more expensive!
