Ayaneo’s new retro Pocket Ace handheld gets pre order on popular retailer after smashing Indiegogo target
Table of Contents
Ayaneo is a name that came from seemingly nowhere. Following the launch of the Steam Deck, Ayaneo appeared to offer high-spec devices with unique features like the keyboard-equipped Ayaneo Slide. Previously, you needed to be part of a crowdfunding campaign to get hold of one of these devices, but that has now changed.
Online retailer Droix is dedicated to handheld and portable devices, along with accessories and peripherals for this type of device. The latest Ayaneo device, the Ayaneo Pocket Ace, is being offered for sale on the Droix website for US and UK customers.

Ayaneo Pocket Ace
The Ayaneo Pocket Ace has only just launched through Ayaneo's customary platform of Indiegogo, where it can be pre-ordered for $339. This price does not include tax or import duties, however. Those who prefer to have access to better customer service and warranty options can instead use Droix, which is making three models of the Pocket Ace available. The aim is to begin shipping on July 11.
The device absolultely smashed its $6,659 target by raising nearly $130,000 with 257 backers at the time of writing. There’s still a month and half to go on the campaign, so there’s plenty of time to climb even higher.
The Ayaneo Pocket Ace uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen2 chip, and is powerful enough to act as an emulation machine for a number of older consoles, right up to the Nintendo Switch. It is smaller than many of Ayaneo's other handhelds, making it a suitable choice to slip into a pocket or small bag. Despite this, it boasts decent battery life with a 6000 mAh battery and a 4.5-inch display.
Further information on the Ayeneo Pocket Ace can be found on the Indiegogo page or on the Droix website.
Note: the original version of this article had prices based on ones erroneously posted to the Droix website. This has now been modified to represent the correct pricing.
