Black Friday is here and the deals are rolling in on 1440p monitors, and I think I’ve struck gold.
I’ve found three 1440p, 144hz+ gaming monitors that have now been reduced to under $190 on Amazon. In fact, they are all at their lowest price ever, all have HDR, and two of them come with freebies that’ll be much appreciated if you’re a creative.
If you’re looking for a monitor to pair with a mid-range gaming PC build or even a productivity setup, I think these are the best options if you’re looking to save some cash this Black Friday.
My top 3 budget 1440p Black Friday deals
ASUS ROG Strix 27” Gaming Monitor
LG UltraGear QHD 27-Inch Gaming Monitor 27GL83A-B
ASUS TUF Gaming 27” 1440P HDR Monitor
ASUS TUF Gaming 27” 1440P HDR Monitor – Was $249.00, Now $189.00 at Amazon
ASUS TUF Gaming 27” 1440P HDR Monitor
First up is this monitor from ASUS, specifically its TUF Gaming series which is known for its quality at a more entry level price-point. This is a more basic option that still has everything you need. You’re getting 180hz, 1ms response time, and FreeSync Premium/ G-SYNC compatibility, which should all add up to smooth gameplay even when frames increase and dip.
As for contrast and color, this monitor supports HDR-10 and 130% sRGB. HDR-10 is definitely a nice-to-have feature that will make your games pop and increase the depth of blacks on screen, and 130% sRGB is also good if you’re planning on using this for more creative endeavours. This is something Asus obviously has in mind, as it throws in a complimentary three months of Adobe Creative Cloud when you buy this monitor.
In terms of design, these monitors are all fairly basic, but that’s not exactly a bad thing. Aesthetically, they can fit into pretty much any space and look great – making it an excellent choice for most people.
Personally, I think this is a great deal and you’re getting a versatile monitor for the price. It’s actually at its lowest price ever on Amazon, so it’s well worth considering.
LG UltraGear QHD 27-Inch Gaming Monitor – Was $299.99, Now $189.99 at Amazon
LG UltraGear QHD 27-Inch Gaming Monitor 27GL83A-B
This monitor has been doing the rounds for ages, and it’s one of the go-to options for most people. On paper, it’s slightly less impressive that the previous option, as it has a lower 144hz refresh rate and 99% sRGB. That shouldn’t make too much of a difference in my view, but if you’re playing games at much higher fps in QHD, like Counter Strike, you may want to check out a FHD high refresh option for the same price instead.
This monitor has 350 nits of brightness, which from personal experience I can tell you is more than enough even for well-lit rooms. When it comes to design, even though the base stand is a little large, people tend to rave about the ergonomics of it. You can adjust the height, swivel, and tilt this monitor to whatever you think works best without having to pay a premium for the privilege.
Also at its lowest price ever on Amazon, this is an excellent deal if you’re looking for a do-it-all monitor.
ASUS ROG Strix 27” Gaming Monitor – Was $299.00, Now $189.00 at Amazon
ASUS ROG Strix 27” Gaming Monitor
Another option from ASUS, but this time it’s its ROG line, which is tailored more towards gamers and performance. In truth, there’s not a whole lot difference between this as the TUF version above, but it does have a DisplayHDR 400 rating, as it can reach a peak brightness of 400 nits. That’s good and not the norm for under $200 that’s for sure. It also has a slight higher 133% sRGB coverage, which translates to 97% DCI-P3. This makes your games look incredible, but it’s also good for design and photo-editing too. Again, ASUS is throwing in three months of Adobe Creative Cloud for free when you purchase this monitor.
Design-wise, this has the TUF variation beat, thanks to its smaller base. This makes it way easier to hold on to your desk real-estate, and it even has a built in phone holder too. Great if you want to take a videocalls, or feel like watching something while you’re working.
Once again, it’s no surprise that this is at its lowest price ever – another solid reason to buy this monitor this Black Friday.
