Black Friday deal knocks MSI Ventus RTX 5070 graphics card down to lowest price in 30 days at Newegg
Table of Contents
It looks like the MSI Ventus lineup is seeing some pretty decent Black Friday discounts right now at Newegg, and we think this one may be of interest if you’re looking for something good for 1440p gaming and more. Right now, this MSI Ventus RTX 5070 12GB OC graphics card is down $130, reduced from $679.99 to $549.99, and at its lowest price in 30 days at Newegg. This card is an overclocked edition, features a robust cooling solution, and, of course, is built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which boasts both performance and efficiency improvements across the board. If you’re sticking in the mid-range, the RTX 5070 12GB is one of the best graphics cards you can buy if you want something more recently released, and we think this card is well worth considering while it’s on sale.

Key features of this MSI Ventus RTX OC graphics card
Cooling and design
So, first off, the Ventus lineup is more of a basic offering when it comes to aesthetics. You’re not getting any flashy aRGB, which may be a small downside for some, but overall, we think the grey and black coloring and clean lines make it pretty good. In terms of cooling, you’ve got three fans in this build, which also feature TORX Fan 5.0 technology, which allows for high air pressure airflow. You’ve also got a Zero Frozr feature that switches the fans off when they’re needed for lighter usage, which helps reduce operational noise levels. On top of that, there’s the usual array of square-shaped core pipes, a nickel-plated copper baseplate, and vents to allow for heat dissipation. Overall, a solid offering when it comes to cooling.
Nvidia Blackwell architecture
One of the big wins of getting a 50-series graphics card is that you’re getting access to some of the latest and greatest generational improvements brought forward by Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture. Everything from the CUDA cores, ray tracing cores, tensor cores, and VRAM is improved, and there are also new features like DLSS 4 and MFG that can be used to push performance even further. With the VRAM, especially, it’s GDDR7, which has much higher bandwidth than GDDR6. This is going to be especially helpful when it comes to making gaming sessions smoother, but also reducing lag in creative tasks and applications.
Performance
This card is an OC model, and can reach 2557 MHz via MSI Center software, and can be overclocked further via MSI Afterburner. We’ve reviewed an RTX 5070 12GB here in our testing labs, so we can give you a rough idea of what to expect in terms of gaming performance, too. In Cyberpunk 2077, it was able to get 108fps at 1440p and 45fps with ray tracing enabled at ultra settings, which is very impressive considering how demanding the game is to run. Games like Doom Eternal got 212fps at 1440p with ray tracing, which gives you an idea of what to expect with less demanding titles. Of course, the 12GB of VRAM is going to be a limiter, especially when it comes to 4K performance, and potentially some more complex 3D rendering tasks; however, for 1440p gaming, this is a great card to go for.
Who’s this deal for?
We’d say that if you’re after something that’s going to be primarily used for 1440p gaming and moderately demanding creative workloads, like video editing, photo editing, and graphic design, then this is going to be great. If you’re looking for something with more VRAM, you’d obviously want to check out the RTX 5070 Ti 16GB, which we’re also seeing on sale right now. The increased VRAM is going to help with high-resolution gaming, even more snappy editing and creative tasks, and more, so for a few hundred dollars more, it may be well worth your while.
