Black Myth: Wukong, the highly anticipated action RPG inspired by the classic Journey to the West, is gearing up for its release later this month. With its stunning visuals and demanding gameplay, many gamers are wondering if their rigs can handle the Monkey King’s adventures. But what about those who own a portable handheld device like the ASUS ROG Ally? Can it handle the demanding game, or will users have to stick to their PCs?

While official benchmarks for Black Myth: Wukong haven’t been released yet, the game’s developers have introduced a benchmarking tool on Steam. This tool is designed to help players evaluate whether their hardware will be able to run the game smoothly or not.

Black Myth: Wukong benchmarks on ASUS ROG Ally X

A user on Reddit decided to test the tool on their ASUS ROG Ally X. With the graphical settings set to low and FSR, along with Frame Generation, on, he was getting an average of 61 FPS with a 17W preset, 70 FPS with a 20W custom profile, 72 FPS with a 25W Turbo profile, and 77 FPS with a 30W Turbo profile.

Another user tested the tool on their ROG Ally X but with better graphical settings. The user set the Texture, Post Effects, and Shadow quality to medium while every other setting was set to low. At 20W, the user was getting an average of 34 FPS. He then decided to keep everything low, after which he was getting 46 FPS with Super Resolution set at 50. According to him, the overall gameplay was smooth, but he recommends the medium profile, as this improves the visuals of the game. On top of that, he further added that running ROG Ally X at 25W or Turbo mode when plugged in will boost the performance by around 15%.

It is important to keep in mind that these are the results of the benchmarking tool. For the actual performance, we will have to wait for the game to release on August 20. But this still gives us an idea of how well the game will run on the ASUS ROG Ally.
