Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, but fans don’t have to wait until then to get their first hands-on experience. Activision is preparing a multiplayer beta, and players who have pre-ordered the game on any platform (excluding the Nintendo Switch 2, because those aren’t available yet) can jump in with early access starting today, August 21.

The beta will offer more than just a small multiplayer preview. Players have access to several 6v6 multiplayer maps and modes, along with the new Kill Block mode. Activision is also giving players an early look at the single-player campaign through the “Entrenched” mission. If you haven’t pre-ordered, then you’ll have to wait until next week for the open beta.

When will the MW4 beta launch today?

According to Activision, the Modern Warfare 4 Early Access Beta will begin today, August 21, at 11 AM PT. Due to time zone differences, the exact start time will vary depending on where you are in the world. We’ve put together a list of different regions below:

  • Los Angeles – 11 AM PT (August 21)
  • New York – 2 PM ET (August 21)
  • London – 7 PM BST (August 21)
  • Berlin – 8 PM CET (August 21)
  • Mumbai – 11:30 PM IST (August 21)
  • Tokyo – 3 AM JST (August 22)
  • Sydney – 4 AM AEST (August 22)
  • Auckland – 6 AM NZST (August 22)

We’ve also got a countdown clock below, tracking when the early access beta goes live to the second. Keep in mind that it will disappear once it expires, so if you can’t see the timer, the beta is already live. This first beta weekend will be open until August 25, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta rewards and weekend 2 details

Activision is rewarding players for participating in the beta. By completing the available challenges and playing the beta, you’ll be able to unlock in-game rewards. These rewards can be redeemed immediately during the beta and will also carry over to the full version of Modern Warfare 4 once it launches.

While early access begins today for eligible players, the beta won’t remain exclusive to pre-order customers for long. This is because everyone will be able to access the Open Beta starting August 28, meaning you won’t need to pre-order the game to participate during the second phase.

The beta will expand further during Weekend 2, when players will be able to try Ground War: Combat Outpost. The second weekend will also introduce the new Zodiac Resurgence map in Call of Duty: Warzone, giving players more content to explore before the full release.
