Cooler Master is giving away a free 240Hz gaming monitor if you pre order their latest PSU

If you’re just about to build a PC, a new power supply is likely on your shopping list – and this is not a component we’d recommend skimping on. So, introducing the new Cooler Master X Silent Edge Platinum 850W PSU, which has recently gone up for pre-order on the Cooler Master store.

We have to admit that this is a pretty pricey PSU, retailing for $399 / £321, but an early bird offer is now in place to net you a bunch of free goodies, including a 240Hz gaming monitor. This premium power supply features an ‘almost silent’ fanless design and Platinum certification for efficient running.

According to the official Cooler Master store page, the X Silent Edge Platinum 850 (Fanless) will be released ‘towards the end of June’, though no specified date is given at the time of writing. That means there isn’t long to go until this promotion ends. The store page reveals that all pre-orders will come with the following three products for free:

• GM27-CFX 27-inch curved gaming monitor
• ATX 24 PIN 90 Adapter Capacitors
• M.2 SSD Thermal Pad

The 27″ gaming monitor is the biggest selling point for us here, and a nice pickup if you’re already in the market for a high-end power supply. Do note that this limited bundle deal is first come first serve and a ‘special price while supplies last’.

Is pre-ordering the Cooler Master X Silent Edge worth it?

As we alluded to earlier, this power supply belongs to the more high-end market. The 80 Plus Platinum rating makes it one of the best power supplies out there and 850W provides enough power for most builds, perhaps excluding a particularly powerful custom RTX 4090 build with all the bells and whistles.
