Black Friday is well underway and it looks like some seriously good deals are rolling in. Corsair, in particular, who is know for its excellent PC components has just slammed one of its best monitors ever into the sales, the Xeneon Flex – and we couldn’t be happier.
On top of that, they haven’t just given us a small discount. There is a massive 45% off, slashing almost $1000 off the original price to an new record low. Now there’s a lot to love about this monitor which I’ll get into in this article, but the main thing is that you can actually adjust it flat or curved whenever you want. That makes it excellent for immersive gaming when curved, but watching movies or working when flat. It’s a game-changer, and something unique to this line of monitors.
Here’s the deal below for you to check out more, and if you fancy a short, sharp breakdown of the monitor from a performance and specs perspective, stick around and read on.
Corsair 45-Inch 240Hz OLED Gaming Monitor
First off, the OLED panel – what’s so special about it? Well asides from the fact its bendable up to 800R (a slight curvature) OLED panels have the best contrast on the market. Thanks to self illuminating pixels, they will literally turn off to show black on screen – which means you get super deep blacks, instead of dark grey. That goes a long way in making both games and content look more lifelike.
Sometimes OLED panels don’t go too bright, but this monitor has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, which is a good indicator that it’s going to be fine to use in well-lit rooms. It also feature an anti-glare screen which can prevent those annoying reflections – something that many OLED TVs do without.
As for speed and smoothness, you’ve got a 240hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, and FreeSync Premium. Since you’ll be playing in 1440p on this and likely to get above 100 fps if you’ve got a pretty good gaming PC, this monitor should be more than capable of handling that with reduced chances of screen tearing. The adaptive sync technology could be higher, but for this price, it’s not bad at all.
Overall, it’s a great monitor to go for if you’re looking for something punchy for your setup, and the flexibility to go flat or curved adds a level of versatility that’s makes it great for practically any usage.
