Remaster accidentally revealed ahead of schedule by updated website privacy policy
Whoopsie daisy. As we’d speculated earlier in the week, it seems that a remaster of Crysis is indeed coming out soon. Crytek appears to be preparing the official announcement of a remaster of their classic 2007 shooter, and in order to get all their ducks in a row ahead of the announcement, they have started to update elements of their web page.
All this stuff has been deleted from their website now, but not before we got a sneaky peek at it all.

Included in the site’s metadata is this information:

Our friends over at Intel Gaming also tweeted out a trailer, before promptly deleting is. I guess they just got a little over-excited. Fortunately, we were able to grab a copy of the trailer before it was deleted. Not a huge amount of detail in there, but it’s an interesting tease nonetheless.
Other details about this release are yet to be revealed, but the addition of ray tracing is certainly an appealing prospect for what was already a game that holds up visually reasonably well.
It’s not yet clear if EA is going to be involved with this release, or if ownership of the series has reverted back to Crytek between now and the original release. There’s no EA Logos or anything else featured here, so it does certainly suggest that EA are not directly involved in this remaster.
