When it comes to modern gaming, it’s almost impossible not to mention the Dark Souls franchise. Its impact has been so massive that countless developers have tried to create their own version of the next Dark Souls, giving rise to an entire genre of Souls-like games. Known for their brutal difficulty, the first three Dark Souls titles still have a loyal fanbase, and if you are in the mood for something a little more challenging than the average game, you can never go wrong with Dark Souls.

That said, the studio behind Dark Souls went on to create other major franchises like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring, both of which draw heavy inspiration from the Dark Souls formula. So if this trilogy gets you hooked on Souls-like games, rest assured, the challenge is far from over. And hopefully, by the time the Steam Summer Sale 2025 rolls around on June 26, you might just find those titles sitting at some solid discounts too.
