The RTX 3060 may have launched all the way back in February 2021, but it continues to prove its high demand. More than four years later, it’s still at the top of Amazon US’s GPU sales chart, beating out newer and more expensive cards. For many gamers, it remains the best balance of performance, price, and memory.

Right now, the RTX 3060 is the top-selling GPU on Amazon US. Technically, it’s in the second spot overall because the number one best seller in the GPU category is a GPU brace support, a tool used to stop heavy cards from sagging inside PC cases. But among actual graphics cards, the 3060 is number one. The second-best-selling GPU is Nvidia’s RTX 5070, which is a mid-range option in the latest RTX 50-series lineup, also offering 12GB of VRAM. After that comes AMD’s Radeon RX 9060 XT, which offers 4GB more memory than both cards.

When it was released, the RTX 3060 was praised as one of the best budget-friendly graphics cards available. While it wasn’t the most powerful card of its generation, it offered something rare in its price range: 12GB of VRAM. That’s still more than what many budget cards offer today. Both the RTX 5060 and RTX 4060 feature just 8GB. There’s at least hope that the next generation will lift the baseline, based on AMD RDNA 5 leaks. Intel has already started offering 10GB as a minimum on its Arc B570 GPU.

Having 12GB of VRAM makes a difference for modern games, especially those that demand more memory for higher settings and textures. This allows the RTX 3060 to stay relevant even as new titles become more demanding. We even noticed that the 3060 can outperform the 4060 in certain scenarios for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

In any case, it’s great to see that even after four years, the RTX 3060 is going strong. It continues to be a strong GPU for 1080p gaming, and we’re not expecting its demand to drop just yet.
