GeForce Now rep responds after New World players hit by permanent ban wave

It is unfortunate that some players feel the need to cheat in online games. Anti-cheat software is supposed to level the playing field and make things fair for everyone, but unfortunately, it isn't perfect. This time, the Anti-cheat software used by Amazon is causing players to get banned for using an official Nvidia app.
GeForce Now is Nvidia's cloud gaming service. This subscription service allows users to play a wide variety of games hosted on Nvidia servers via streaming without needing a powerful gaming PC or a large hard drive. However, using this service when playing Amazon's New World: Aeternum seems to be causing a major problem for some users.
Easy Anti-Cheat reportedly sees GeForce Now as a cheat
Players have been reporting that Easy Anti-Cheat is reporting GeForce Now as a ‘Known Cheat Program'. This has resulted in a wave of ‘Permanent Ban' notifications for users who have done nothing wrong.
Several posts on the matter have appeared on Reddit, with many very confused as to why New World: Aeternum was added to the GeForce Now service without being properly whitelisted to ensure this sort of error doesn't happen.
A GeForce Now staff representative did comment on one of the Reddit threads to reassure users that the problem was in the process of being resolved: “We know there was an issue that caused some GeForce NOW players to be banned when playing New World: Aeternum. We have worked with the publisher to resolve the bans, and those users should be able to play the game again without needing to contact Amazon support. Thanks!”
Another user noted that this issue has occurred before with other games, though it is usually resolved swiftly. Hopefully, the underlying cause of this problem has been resolved, and users will no longer have to worry about the ban hammer being brought down upon them.
