GPD has recently unveiled its plans to launch a dual-screen laptop, named the GPD DUO. The company, regularly associated with its handheld gaming releases often launches products that serve a double purpose. In this case, the GPD DUO is a functional laptop with a unique design that allows you to transport a larger display anywhere. Let’s take a closer look at what this product has to offer.
What we know so far about the GPD DUO
In a post on X, GPD announced the launch of its GPD DUO, a dual-screen laptop that incorporates an AMOLED display. GPD has recently stated that this product is the first of this kind, and although there are similar devices that may counter this statement, it is technically true. The GPD DUO is a laptop that will feature two screens permanently attached to the keyboard, unlike similarly marketed products that feature two touch screens and a detachable keyboard.
“The GPD DUO features dual 13.3-inch OLED screens, utilizing Samsung’s original AM-OLED panels. When folded, the device is the size of an A4 sheet of paper, and when both screens are fully extended, it measures 18 inches. It supports 10-point touch, 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity with a stylus, the MPP protocol, and is compatible with the Surface Pen stylus!”

The design of the laptop is perfect for those looking for versatility in working environments. The screen, attached at the top of the primary screen can fold behind allowing the product to function as a tablet or to share content while the primary screen is being used. Both screens will be 13.3 inches and use the Samsung AMOLED OLED technology, to produce a glossy, colorful contrast. The laptop is currently being marketed as an AI PC, although the specific hardware has not yet been disclosed. This could mean that the laptop utilizes hardware like Intel Core Ultra 100/200, AMD Ryzen 7000/9000/AI 300, or Qualcomm Snapdragon X to power it.
Aside from the novelty of this laptop, there are also a few functional features that make it a worthwhile purchase. According to the announcement made by GPD, the GPD DUO will feature versatile ports, a 35W TDP, and an integrated design. Unfortunately, there have been no official statements made as to when the device will be arriving.
