Seemingly ever since the release of Star Wars: Outlaws to Geforce Now, this error code (0xC272008F) has been popping up everywhere. It seems to have affected a lot of players trying to play Ubisoft games specifically. A few users on Reddit have expressed their frustrations over the last few days. One user by the name of SoyMozzie posted in the r/GeForceNOW subreddit stating that they are “going crazy” over this error.
Luckily there is a decently reliable way to fix this, though it may seem a little unorthodox. Such is life we suppose, if it works, it works. There’s no official word from Ubisoft or Nvidia yet regarding this error, but we imagine that they are aware of it and will address it as soon as possible. Hopefully.
How to fix GeForce NOW error code 0xC272008F
Several theories have been floating around as to how this error can be fixed, luckily it’s Reddit to the rescue again with a user by the name of Weak_Zombie_597 posting the only known consistent workaround for this error. If you’re struggling with this problem, it’s recommended you try this before spending your precious time navigating through customer support.
Here is the exact fix for the error as Weak-Zombie-579 wrote it:
- Search for Star Wars Outlaws in GFN and Mark as Owned (but do not sync).
- Click “Not now” then “Continue”. Now you should be able to press play.
- Press play -> GFN should try to start the game. After loading the bar, it should give you the message, that you do not own the game.
- Now you should be able to play other Ubisoft games.
The only thing that we can think of, is that there is some kind of server or game validation error that tricks GeForce NOW into thinking you don’t have permission to run the game. We’re not server engineers or cloud gaming system experts, but it seems to have a lot to do with Star Wars: Outlaws since the fix includes it.
Many comments under the post made by Weak-Zombie confirm that this fix does indeed seem to work, and users could return to playing Ubisoft games once again.
