Stalker 2 players have been complaining about different issues since the game’s launch, such as crashing and sudden FPS drops. However, one underlying issue for mouse and keyboard users is that aiming may feel ‘uneven’, leading to poor accuracy. Well, it turns out the game’s default settings use different sensitivities for vertical (Y-axis) and horizontal (X-axis) movement.
While the developers haven’t released an official fix or patch for this, a modder, Strangorth, has been able to create an Equalized Aim Sensitivity mod that fixes the issue. The mod has been downloaded more than 26,000 times, and you can try using it to improve your gameplay.

- BaseTurnRate = 40 (Horizontal sensitivity)
- BaseLookUpRate = 30 (Vertical sensitivity)
This mod changes both values to 40, making them equal. It’s a small adjustment but can have a noticeable impact on gameplay, as your aim should start feeling more consistent. On top of that, while the mod has been created for mouse and keyboard users, it also works for controllers. However, the modder mentions that it won’t fix the game’s “dodgy deadzone settings for controllers,” but they might look into this next.

Several Stalker 2 players claimed that the mod worked flawlessly for them, and their game feels 10x better now. However, some also reported that their game started crashing after they installed the mod. If this happens to you, simply go back to the Paks folder and delete the ~mods folder to remove the mod and any changes it might have made.
