It seems as though Intel buyers are still not opting for the latest generation of CPUs. The Core Ultra 200s might be getting a refresh this year, but it’s still the 14th Gen that’s getting the sales. Looking at the best sellers on Amazon, it’s the Intel Core i7-14700K that breaks through as the first processor from Team Blue after the flood of AMD processors, and now it has an early Prime Day deal to take advantage of.
If it’s an upgrade for the LGA 1700 or a budget build, you can get the i7-14700K at 15% off on Amazon. That cuts off $46 from the $320.99 price tag it previously sat on, and now makes it a $274 processor with Prime.

Why you might consider the 14700K
The Intel Core i7-14700K offers a great middle ground when deciding between creative and gaming workloads, as we found in our review of the 14700K. Scoring it a 4.5 out of 5, it is a great piece of hardware for the LGA 1700 platform, especially if you’re upgrading or looking for a budget build now that its stability issues have been addressed. It also performs at the same level, if not better than the Core Ultra 200S range, with a better price, so if AMD is not on the cards, this could be it.

The 14700K is a great middle-ground for those looking to game and work on the same PC. This CPU has a plethora of cores and threads at its disposal to chew through basically any workload you can throw at it. And thanks to the big.LITTLE technology Intel implemented into its CPUs back when Alder Lake was released, the CPU is as efficient as ever.
