Konami apologizes for MGS Delta: Snake Eater bugs, but fails to mention the performance issues on PC

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released today, but those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game have already been playing thanks to the early access bonus. However, what was meant to be a solid remake of MGS3: Snake Eater has turned into a disappointing experience for some PC players due to severe performance issues.
Yesterday, we reported that PC players were facing different performance issues in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on PC. The worst part is that even those with high-end components like the RTX 5090 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D have been reporting stuttering and FPS drop issues. Those with weaker hardware are reporting even worse problems, like their FPS dropping as low as 20, making the game nearly unplayable.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has a couple of crashing issues
When the complaints first appeared, we hoped that Konami would release a patch to address all the problems before the full launch today. However, while the developers have acknowledged the issues players are facing in a post on the game’s X account, they didn’t mention anything about performance.
Konami stated they have “received reports of several issues and are preparing a patch to address them.” They also shared a list of known issues, which can be seen below. However, the list doesn’t mention any of the performance issues players have faced since early access began. There are two crash issues in the list, but they are linked to specific in-game actions.
While we understand that new games are usually filled with bugs or glitches at launch and there are performance hiccups, the state of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is worse than expected. The RTX 5090 is currently the most powerful gaming GPU on the market, and it should really handle every game smoothly at 4K with the graphics maxed out. The performance issues are currently affecting a limited number of players due to the early access period.

Once the game fully launches today, the list of problems may grow further if the developers fail to address them through a day-one patch. In any case, we hope to see the performance and optimization targeted in an upcoming update – or at least be announced to be in the plans.
