If you’re looking for a large 4K monitor at a great price, then this is a deal worth checking out. Currently, the LG 37-inch UltraGear gaming monitor is on sale for $200 less on Amazon, reduced from $799.99 to $599.99, and at its lowest price ever. This gaming monitor brings a lot to the table for the price. Alongside its immersive 1000R curve, it boasts 4K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium Pro, and a very impressive DisplayHDR 600 rating, a certification only achieved by monitors with some of the best contrast, color, and brightness. LG 37G800A-B 37-Inch Ultragear 4K Curved Gaming Monitor

UHD (3840 x 2160), 165Hz, 1ms, FreeSync Premium Pro, DisplayHDR 600, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, USB Type-C, Tilt/Height/Swivel Stand, Black

Key features of this LG UltraGear 37-inch gaming monitor

4K resolution and 37-inch curved display

This monitor is designed to showcase games in stunning UHD clarity and deliver more immersion than your typical 32-inch 4K display. It’s a large 37-inch display, and it also features a 1000R curvature, which is one of the most ‘aggressive’ curves you can get in a gaming monitor.

165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time

This refresh rate is high enough to accommodate those looking for something for fast-paced gaming and some competitive play, and it’ll also make for a much smoother gaming experience at 4K. Its response time isn’t the lowest you can get, as some monitors are 0.03ms, but it’s still good, and will dramatically reduce ghosting and motion blur.

DisplayHDR 600 and 95% DCI-P3 color

With most monitors, even some of the very top QD-OLED models, earning a lower DisplayHDR 400 rating, this LG Ultragear display stands out from the crowd. Its DisplayHDR 600 certification means that you’re getting excellent contrast, color, and brightness for incredibly lifelike visuals. On top of that, its 95% DCI-P3 rating makes it ideal for video editors, who typically work in this color space.

AMD FreeSync Premium Pro

Equipped with the top-tier of adaptive sync technology, this monitor can sync its refresh rate to your GPU’s framerate, which effectively eliminates screen tearing and stutter. FreeSync Premium Pro is also designed with HDR gaming in mind, which is excellent if you’re playing games at max settings and still want a super smooth experience.

Black Stabilizer and Dynamic Action Sync

Black Stabilizer is quite a common feature in high-end gaming monitors, as it can help provide a competitive edge. It essentially reveals details in dark areas, without over-exposing light areas. This means you can spot opponents hiding in the shadows, for example. Dynamic Action Sync is a feature that reduces input lag, which, again, is important with competitive play.

USB-C and HDMI 2.1 ports

HDMI 2.1 connectivity is pretty standard with any high-end 4K monitor, but it does come in handy if you’re planning on pairing a PS5 with it. Its USB-C is great, too, as it features 65W power delivery, meaning you can connect devices to it for both data transfer and charging.

Things to consider

This is a great monitor, and for the size, the price is very tempting. That being said, it’s not the most versatile pick you could go for. For one, the curvature is very steep, which can be a bit unusual when watching movies or doing anything creative, like photo editing. Secondly, even with its competitive gaming features, it’s not exactly optimally sized for this type of gaming, especially when it comes to first-person shooters. On top of that, its refresh rate is on the lower side compared to some of the other 4K, 240Hz options on the market. These aren’t huge issues, but if you’re looking for the most bang for your buck for gaming, design work, and productivity, you may find a ‘classic’ flat screen, 32-inch 4K model better value.
