Hades 2 has been a popular game ever since it launched in early access back in May 2024. Even though it's still not fully released yet, the game continues to grow, thanks to constant updates from developers Supergiant Games. Recently, another new major update was released, which has caused the game’s popularity to surge, especially on the Steam Deck.

The new update, called The Unseen, was released on June 17th. And if you check the Steam Deck Top Played charts right now, you'll find Hades 2 sitting in the third spot. It's currently ahead of other titles like Fantasy Life I, Baldur's Gate 3, and even Elden Ring Nightreign. This shows just how much players are loving the latest update, especially those playing on Valve’s popular handheld device, where the game runs a treat – it’s easy to run on low-end systems.

On top of the update, there's even more good news for anyone wanting to buy the game. Right now, Hades 2 is available at a 10% discount on Steam. While it may not be a huge discount, it's still a nice chance to grab the game at a lower price. The offer is available until June 26.

What does the update offer?

The Unseen update is the third major update for Hades 2 since its early access release. It adds a lot of new content for players to enjoy. Each main weapon now has something called Hidden Aspects, which give new fighting styles to try out. Players can also take on much tougher versions of bosses through the new Vow of Rivals feature, where each boss comes with fresh surprises. The update also introduces Godsent Hexes, which are new magical abilities powered up by the Olympian gods.

The Umbral Flames combat system has also been improved, and the developers have added new artwork, more music tracks, and new Warden encounters through the update. For a full list of changes and improvements, you can check out the official update log. Supergiant Games has also confirmed that they are now preparing for the full version 1.0 launch. No exact release date has been provided for it, but the devs are entering the final phase of early access development.
