Table of Contents
The developers behind Winhanced have released version 0.9.9.2, introducing one of the software’s biggest updates yet. The new release focuses on improving performance, reliability, and usability, while also bringing a completely redesigned in-game overlay. On top of that, early access users are getting new home screen layouts and expanded game library support.
One of the biggest additions in the update is the rebuilt Performance Engine. According to the devs, it delivers smoother and more consistent performance by allowing power tuning to stabilize more quickly instead of constantly fluctuating. Fan controls have also been improved, with Winhanced now automatically reapplying fan settings if they fail to take effect.

Another major highlight is the arrival of Winhanced HUD 2.0, which has been rebuilt from the ground up. The updated Xbox Game Bar widget features a redesigned tile-based interface that makes it easier to find and adjust settings while gaming. The overlay itself has also been refreshed with a cleaner layout that’s easier to read at a glance.
The new HUD also introduces several new features. Players can now create custom fan curves for individual games and power profiles directly from the overlay. Owners of Intel-powered handhelds gain access to Endurance Gaming, which is designed to extend battery life during longer gaming sessions. There’s also a new Frame Generation Override option that lets users switch between Auto, 2x, 3x, and 4x frame generation without opening Intel’s graphics software.
Even more upgrades
Early access users are also receiving a couple of exclusive additions. Two new home screen layouts, called Art Forward and GlassStation, are now available, offering different visual styles. Winhanced has also expanded its installed game library support, allowing titles from Ubisoft Connect, EA, Amazon Games, and Battle.net to appear alongside games from other platforms.
The update also includes a long list of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. Steam-related issues have been addressed, including unexpected sign-outs, problems launching games with custom launch options, and Steam being force-closed during installs or restarts.
Additional improvements include clearer driver update labels, a better-organized friends list that prioritizes active players, a new screenshot shortcut for back paddles, fixes for settings that occasionally failed to save, and further optimizations aimed at improving battery life while handhelds are in standby mode.
