What we think of the 7700X

The Ryzen 7 7700X occupies a somewhat middle-of-the-road position in AMD’s lineup. On its own, it's a strong performer, efficient, reliable, and capable of handling both gaming and productivity tasks with ease. However, it doesn't particularly stand out, often feeling like a product designed to bridge the gap between the 7600X and the 7900X.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X is a CPU that sometimes struggles to find it's place in the world, however, it still offers a lot in terms of power and performance. It could be a little more affordable, but it does okay at filling the massive performance gap between the 7600X and the 7900X.

In terms of performance, that's exactly where it lands, offering benchmark results that slot neatly between its two siblings. So with the pricing discounts, the processor makes for an appealing choice when you want the extra cores and threads without a high extra cost on top.
