Modder turns Oblivion Remastered into a “true” first-person experience with immersive camera tweak

Every gaming fan tends to have their preferences when it comes to character perspective. Some prefer to have a better awareness of the surroundings using a third-person viewpoint. Others like to be fully immersed in their character’s viewpoint with a first-person perspective. Players of Oblivion: Remastered can now enjoy an improved first-person camera view thanks to a mod.
The modding community that has grown up around The Elder Scrolls franchise is large, knowledgeable, and dedicated. Games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and even Morrowind enjoy a vast library of mods to choose from. The release of Oblivion Remastered gave this community a new project to sink their teeth into, and they have done so with enthusiasm.
A more immersive camera mod
Modder 3AMt was apparently dissatisfied with the available First-person camera view in Oblivion Remastered and set out to deliver an improved version. The True First Person Camera mod is described as: “letting you experience the game through your character’s eyes, body and all. Just like in immersive sim titles or ARMA.” Keep in mind that it is labeled as a work in progress.
This alters the camera view to be aligned with the head, as if the camera were sitting right in-between the characters' eyes. It is also possible to view your character’s full mesh in this mode, including arms, legs, and all your equipped gear. In addition, your character's body will rotate along with the camera. Though the ‘Freelook mode' allows players to look around independently without moving their character.
To use this mod, users will need the latest version of UE4SS and a copy of Oblivion Remastered. The modder notes that the mod does still have a few known bugs, such as incompatibility with some hairstyle mods and actions, such as sitting down, not fully able to sync with the camera.
Further information, including how to install the mod, can be found on the Nexus Mods website.
