Nintendo 64 remake that plays games in 4K has been delayed due to tariffs, but don’t worry about the pre-order price
Fans who have been waiting for the Analogue 3D, a modern version of the Nintendo 64, will have to be patient a little longer. The company has confirmed that the console’s release has been pushed to late August, and this delay is due to sudden changes in tariffs that affected shipping plans.
However, the good news is that Analogue will not charge customers any extra fees. Even though they were hit with new costs because of the tariffs, they will handle those expenses themselves. This means customers who pre-ordered the console will not be asked to pay more. That’s a relief for many, especially since the preorder price of $250 has been locked in for a while.
Originally, Analogue planned to ship the Analogue 3D in the first quarter of 2025. Then, earlier this year in March, they updated customers, saying it would be delayed until July. Now, the new estimated shipping window is late August. While it’s frustrating to face another delay, at least it’s not a huge push back, and it’s good to see the company being open about the reason why.
For those worried about waiting even longer or who feel uncertain, Analogue is still allowing pre-orders to be canceled at any time for a full refund. However, it may not be the best idea to cancel. This is because when the system finally launches, it might be harder to find a unit at the current price. It remains out of stock via the official store.
The Analogue 3D is a very exciting console for anyone who loves classic games, especially fans of the Nintendo 64. What makes it special is that it can play real N64 cartridges from any region, whether they are from the U.S., Europe, or Japan. This means you don’t need to worry about buying region-specific games, as the console supports them all.

Another great thing about the Analogue 3D is that it works perfectly with modern TVs. It comes with 4K HDMI output, so your old games will look sharp and clear on newer screens. But even though the picture quality is updated, the console also gives you the option to make your games look the way they did on older TVs. Overall, it’s shaping up to be a great console, and its reviews will go live in late August.
