During CES 2025, Nvidia announced four RTX 50 series cards: The RTX 5090, 5080, 5070, and 5070 Ti. The company only revealed these four GPUs and didn’t mention anything about other cards in the series, including the RTX 5060, which many budget-conscious builders were looking forward to.

While little ‘official’ information has been announced by Nvidia (regarding the budget-friendly 60 model), new leaks suggest that more details could be on the horizon.

Leak highlights possible RTX 5060 Ti 8GB model

We do know that the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti exist and are expected to be released sometime this year, but there’s currently nothing official on them yet. This is why for now, we have to rely on leaks and rumors to get an idea about what they will feature, and the latest one suggests that the RTX 5060 Ti will launch with two memory configurations.

Previously, reports indicated that the RTX 5060 will have 8GB of VRAM, while the RTX 5060 Ti would offer 16GB. At that time, there was no mention of an 8GB model for the Ti variant. However, an EEC leak (spotted by Olrak29 on X) suggests that MaxSun, an RTX 50-series board partner, is preparing both the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060, but it has listed 8GB models for the Ti variant, which was not expected before.

For those who don’t know, the RTX 4060 Ti had two variants: 8GB and 16GB. Since there were no leaks suggesting an 8GB RTX 5060 Ti, many believed that Nvidia would only stick with the 16GB variant this time. However, the EEC leak suggests otherwise, indicating that Nvidia will follow the same strategy as they did with the RTX 4060 Ti.

In any case, it is a bit disappointing to see that Nvidia isn’t planning to offer any VRAM upgrades in the RTX 5060. Many were hoping for at least 16GB in the base model, as 8GB is no longer considered the standard. This could lead people to skip the base model and opt for the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti instead.
