We’re big fans of Samsung smartphones and many of their other products, but we’re not particularly fond of the rather convoluted Galaxy pre order bonus terms that they do every year when they release a new product at their Galaxy Unpacked events. It definitely pays to read the small print, but we’ve done that for you to save you some time!

There are a few different promotions running this year that you can take advantage of, all of which can save you money if you buy (what everyone assumes to be) one of the new Galaxy S25 phones – we’ve explained these below to help you work out which to go for. Some of these you need to act fast to take advantage of so make sure you don’t miss out. The 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to begin at 6pm GMT / 1pm Eastern US / 10am Pacific US time on the 22nd of January. As ever, Samsung won’t confirm what products will be unveiled, but it’s almost certain to include the new Samsung Galaxy S25 range, and the pre orders will be going live soon after.

Samsung reserve program sign-up bonus explained

If you’re based in the US you can sign up to the Samsung Reserve Program – to reserve one of the new upcoming products – and to get access to $50 of additional Samsung Credit (though crucially this cannot be spent on the new reveals e.g. phones themselves, and must be spent on something else at the point of purchase from the Samsung Store). You will also be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win $5,000 in additional Samsung credit, plus have access to $1,250 of ‘additional savings’ – but don’t get too excited because this latter offer likely refers to trade-in options if you wish to cash in your other devices for money off the new phone.

Galaxy Unpacked ‘register your interest’ bonus explained

There’s also a very similar, but not quite the same, ‘register your interest’ offer, that is available in some regions, which asks you to sign up to the Samsung site to receive a £50/$62 Samsung voucher. Unlike the above offer, this can apparently be spent on one of the new phones (or at least the wording would suggest that). Existing Samsung users should also have received and email imitating them to complete a questionnaire to receive the same offer.

The likely ‘standard’ Galaxy S25 pre order bonuses

Even if you don’t sign up for either of the above promotions there will still probably be other benefits available if you buy your new Galaxy S25 in the pre order period. Back in 2023 you could get unique color options, a free storage upgrade (1TB for the price of 512GB), and trade-in deals if you decided to buy your S24 between the unveiling/launch of the product at Galaxy Unpacked Event and the actual release date when it hit the shelves – in other words if you purchased it during the pre-order window. We expect similar benefits to be available this year too, although nothing has been confirmed yet by the company.

When will the Samsung Galaxy S25 pre order go live?

Samsung has not officially confirmed when you’ll be able to pre order the products unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked 2025, however the pattern from the previous few years has been that pre orders go live either right at the end of the presentation, or in the hour or so after. It therefore seems likely that the Samsung Galaxy S25 pre order will go live on January 22nd.

That being said, Forbes reports that there has been ‘discussion that Samsung would delay the opening of the pre-order system from the Wednesday event to the morning of Friday, Jan 24’ – they don’t state their sources for this information but they’re a reputable outlet so it’s possible the opening of the pre-order could be pushed back until then.

When will pre ordered Galaxy S25 phones likely be delivered?

Once again, Samsung has not confirmed this information yet, but if we look at the historical release pattern then there’s usually an approximately two week gap between the launch/pre-orders going live and the actual release date – when the phones hit the shelves and the pre orders are also sent out for delivery. Last year the pre orders went live on Wed 17th and the delivery date was Wed 31st, the previous year pre orders went live on Wed 1st and the delivery date was Fri 17th. This being the case, we can probably expect pre-order deliveries to take place Wed 5th – Fri 7th of February, but we won’t know for sure for a couple of days.
