Newegg announces Fantastech Sale II to rival Amazon Prime Day, and it starts early with a price protection offer

Amazon Prime Day is one of the biggest shopping events of the year; the next one is scheduled to begin on October 7 (of the Big Deal Days variety). But PC gamers, tech fans, and builders don’t have to wait that long to score great deals. That’s because Newegg, one of the largest retailers for PC hardware and electronics, has announced its own event, Fantastech Sale II, and it will start a full day earlier than Amazon’s sale. This goes for both Newegg’s U.S. and Canadian storefronts.
For anyone looking to upgrade their setup, this is big news. Newegg’s Fantastech Sale II will feature huge discounts across a wide range of PC gear. You can expect price cuts on graphics cards, processors, motherboards, RAM, SSDs, power supplies, monitors, headphones, and more. It’s designed to directly rival Prime Day, giving PC enthusiasts a chance to grab discounted hardware without having to wait.
Newegg’s Prime Day rival has been announced for October 6

The event officially begins on October 6 at 12 AM PDT, but here’s where it gets interesting: Newegg is rolling out its Fantastech Price Protection program starting October 1. That means you can start buying early, and if the price drops later during the sale, you’ll automatically get refunded the difference. This refund will be sent back to the original payment method, so you won’t have to do anything extra.
If you purchase an eligible product with the Fantastech Price Protection badge anytime between October 1 and October 5, and the price drops on or before October 12 (when the sales event ends), Newegg will automatically refund you the difference. Customers don’t need to keep track of prices themselves, nor do they need to submit a claim. Newegg will automatically process the refund by October 21.
With Amazon and Newegg both preparing massive events, October is shaping up to be a huge month for deals. If you’ve been holding off on buying new hardware, this could be your chance to save big. You’ll also find prebuilt PCs listed at discounted prices, which are great for those who want to save time.
