Key features of this MSI 27-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor
QD-OLED 1440p screen
This monitor’s display is one of the very best you can get when it comes to gaming monitors, and it boasts impressive contrast and incredible color. Its brightness is 250 nits typical, but can peak at 1000 nits; it features 99% DCI-P3 color, and has a contrast ratio of 1500000:1. On top of that, it’s 1440p resolution, which, on a 27-inch screen, looks crisp and detailed, without having to shell out for a more expensive 4K alternative.
Super responsive for fast-paced gaming
It has a very high 280Hz refresh rate to accommodate competitive-level standard framerates, alongside a very low response time of 0.03ms, which dramatically reduces ghosting and allows you to track what’s on screen more easily. It also supports AMD FreeSync, which ensures smooth gameplay with no screen tearing or stutter.
OLED burn-in protection
This monitor features a range of safeguards against burn-in, as part of the MSI OLED Care 2.0 offering. It has physical features, like a graphene film to whisk away heat from the screen itself, but also built-in technology which can monitor what’s on screen, assess if it poses a risk of burn-in, and make adjustments accordingly. That could be anything from detecting a static image, like one from an on-screen menu, or picking up on various hot spots on screen.
Loads of ports and ergonomic stand
Alongside your standard HDMI and DP ports, you’ve also got USB-C with 15W power delivery, which is ideal for those who want to minimize cable clutter and easily connect laptops or other devices like smartphones, headphones, and more. The stand is also fully adjustable, with a footabase that is on the smaller side, giving you more desk space.

Who’s this monitor for?
For the price, this is a very good monitor for practically any PC build, but we’d say it’s best paired with 1440p gaming PCs that are on the upper end in terms of power. It’s also a good monitor for creatives, particularly video editors, who need to work in both Adobe and DCi-P3 color. We’d say that if you’d pair this with something like an RTX 5070 Ti, which is great for high fps 1440p gaming and also adept with creative workflows, too, it would be a big win.
Things to consider
The only thing we’d say you should weigh up is this monitor’s brightness, which is on the lower side. If you need something with a higher typical nit brightness, you should aim for around 400 nits minimum, which will be bright enough to be clearly visable in well-lit rooms. Mini-LED monitors are good for these, and often have DisplayHDR ratings of 600.
