We’ve spotted a cracking deal going on at Newegg that’s well worth checking out if you’re looking for something great for 1440p gaming, but also a productivity powerhouse. This MSI Aegis RS2 gaming PC is going for $300 off, and has been reduced from $2,099.00 to $1,799.00. Compared to your standard RTX 5070 gaming PC, this is a bit more expensive, but you’re getting a lot for your money here. You’ve got an Intel Core Ultra 7-265K processor, which is an excellent option for multitasking and creative workflows, and there’s also 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2TB SSD. Add that to the fact that it’s from MSI, which means excellent build quality and design, too, and we think it’s a seriously tempting deal.

MSI Gaming Desktop PC Aegis RS2 – Intel Core Ultra 7 265K

AI C2NVP7-1444US 32GB DDR5 2TB NVMe SSD GeForce RTX 5070 Windows 11 Home Advance

Key features of this MSI Aegis RS2 gaming PC

Intel Core Ultra 7 265K processor

This processor is one of the best bang-for-your-buck options in the Intel Core Ultra series, and offers up very well-rounded performance with hybrid usage in mind. It has 20 cores, 20 threads, a big boost clock speed of 5.5GHz, and a large 30MB L3 cache. It also packs an NPU with 13 TOPS, which can come in handy for any real-time AI tasks, like translation or video background blurring, and even assist with speedy AI-accelerated editing tasks, too. Since it’s designed for the new LGA 1851 socket, you’re getting a level of proofing here also, which means you won’t have to swap out your motherboard should you wish to continue with Intel for future CPU upgrades. Read our full review for more details and to see how it performed in our testing.

RTX 5070 graphics card

This is one of the best graphics cards you can buy for 1440p performance in the mid-range price bracket, if you want to get all the benefits of Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, that is. Some of these include features like multi-frame generation, which boosts perceived framerates significantly in-game, and faster GDDR7 VRAM, of which this card has 12GB. You’ve also got 5th-gen Tensor Cores and 4th-gen Ray Tracing cores, both of which provide a big uplift in performance in their respective areas. It’s also a great shout for creatives, too, thanks to features like NVIDIA Broadcast & Studio, which gives you AI-powered tools and a 9th-Gen Encoder for better streaming. Check out our full RTX 5070 review for a deeper dive.

Storage and RAM

A good offering here with its 32GB of DDR5 and a large 2TB SSD. This amount of RAM is ideal for anything from gaming to running demanding creative editing software, and should also help with keeping your overall computing experience responsive and snappy. The 2TB SSD is more than enough for most people, and shouldn’t run out of space too quickly, even if you’re storing large AAA games and hours of 4K footage on it.

Things to consider

You can definitely find a cheaper RTX 5070 gaming PC if you scale back a bit on its CPU generation, RAM, and SSD, so if having an RTX 5070 is your main priority, then we’d recommend checking out our current gaming PC deals below to see what else is out there. You may also want to consider if this Intel CPU is the right one for you, as it’s geared more towards gaming, productivity, and content creation, rather than just flat-out gaming. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D would be a better choice for high fps 1440p gaming, and roughly the same price, too. If you want to stick with Intel, the i7-14700K would be a good, affordable option, but you’ll have to buy a new motherboard if you want to upgrade to a Core Ultra processor later down the line.
