Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the biggest games of the past decade, and we've seen plenty of Cyberpunk-inspired hardware, such as PC cases, GPUs, mice, keyboards, and more. However, one YouTuber took it upon himself to build a Raspberry Pi-powered dashboard that looks like it came straight out of the game.

A Tech YouTuber, Dream In Digital, recently made a dashboard for this PC, taking inspiration from Cyberpunk 2077. He said, “I've poured my blood, sweat, and tears into crafting a device that will make anyone that loves that gritty, high-tech cyberpunk vibe absolutely obsessed.

CyberPi, the Cyberpunk-inspired dashboard

At the core of this device sits the Raspberry Pi 4, and what makes it all work is the Raspberry Pi OS. It has a 5V power supply and a heat sink to keep it running cool. The most difficult part of this project, according to Mike, was fixing the display. It took him a better part of a day to just fix the resolution on this 8” display to fit perfectly. While there wasn't much help available online for this particular issue, a bit of brainstorming with the help of ChatGPT made it work just fine.

ChatGPT came in clutch, helping him to write code for Linux-based programming languages, and he also managed to turn the CyberPi into a Roon endpoint, enabling him to stream music from the device.

As for what urged him to create this, he wanted something that felt like it came straight out of a Cyberpunk control room, with glowing teal and gridlines moving in the background, like it is always breathing.

He divided the 8” display into quadrants that display different stats. The upper left shows the CPU usage, next to it is the RAM usage, besides that is the system temperature, and the top right is the subscriber count for this YouTube channel. The bottom of the display is divided into two sections; the left side shows whatever music is playing on Spotify, along with the album cover. Bottom right shows Mike's RSS feed that scrolls through headlines from his favorite websites. Almost like a massively extended version of the Raspberry Pi Spotify player we spotted last month.

To put the cherry on top, he also created a custom desktop icon through which you can open the dashboard, with the help of ChatGPT, which is a Cyberpunk-esque picture of Mike himself. Making full use of AI, he also created a wallpaper that says “CyberPi” in the Cyberpunk font.

So, all you need to create your own dashboard is a little hardware, some problem-solving skills, and knowing when to leverage the various tools at your disposal, such as ChatGPT. Mike has the complete breakdown of how he put together the CyberPi on his YouTube Channel, which you can follow to create your own version of CyberPi.

Suppose you’re looking for even more Raspberry Pi projects to be inspired by. In that case, we recommend checking out the ‘Pocket SNES‘, a controller/console hybrid, this vintage Apple Macintosh remake, or a handy control panel with custom shortcut buttons for Microsoft Teams.
