Nvidia has already released several RTX 50-series graphics cards this year. These new GPUs have brought big improvements in performance, power efficiency, and AI features compared to the previous generation. Many gamers and PC builders are now looking forward to the launch of the RTX 5060, which will be the budget option in the lineup.

However, it looks like there may be something even more exciting coming later this year. We’ve already seen leaks that suggest Nvidia is preparing to give us more VRAM, and a new leak reiterates this.

Nvidia might launch RTX 5080 Super or RTX 5080 Ti later this year

When Nvidia launched the RTX 50-series, many fans hoped to see major improvements in memory. However, that didn't really happen. The RTX 5080, for example, was hoped to have at least 20GB of VRAM, but it launched with just 16GB. This was the same amount as the RTX 4080, which left some people disappointed. But now, according to a new leak, Nvidia could be planning to launch a new version of the RTX 5080 with 24GB of VRAM.

This information comes from a well-known leaker named harukaze5719 on X, who shared a post from Baidu Forums. In that post, a forum moderator named Ye Yu Mashiro claimed that Nvidia will launch the RTX 5060 on May 20 (in China), during Computex. He also mentioned that Nvidia is working on a replacement for the RTX 5090D, as sales are expected to halt.

But the most interesting part of the leak is about the RTX 5080 Super or possibly the RTX 5080 Ti. According to the moderator, Nvidia will release this new card at the end of 2025. While the exact specifications of the card are not known yet, it's expected – “basically certain” – to offer 24GB of VRAM. There's also a chance that Nvidia might rename the card and sell it as the RTX 5090D in China.

Of course, all of this is just a rumor for now. Nvidia has not made any official announcements about a 24GB version of the RTX 5080. As with any leak, it's best to wait for official confirmation. Still, if this information is true, we might hear more about it at Computex 2025, where Nvidia is expected to share new updates about its future plans.
