Once Human & Alan Wake DLC fixes come to Steam Deck in new Proton Experimental update

Table of Contents
As of yesterday, a new Proton Experimental update arrived, fixing various different issues with launchers and games. For example, if you’ve been struggling to play Alan Wake’s American Nightmare DLC, this update is great news. It’s now playable again, and issues with cutscene playback in Iragon games have also been fixed.
Crashing issues on Once Human when attempting to join a server or open the EULA on fresh Proton prefixes have also been resolved. Additionally, Burnout Paradise Remastered will no longer crash if an input video device is plugged in. Overall, a solid Proton update that deals with some annoying issues that Steam Deck users have been dealing with lately.
Steam Deck fixes for alternative launchers too
On Ubisoft Connect, you should no longer need to log in manually with a new prefix on some games, such as Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. Also, text should now be displayed during the installation of the EA Desktop launcher, and there have been fixes to AVPro playback in VRChat.

How to get the new Proton Experimental Update
For those who aren’t aware, Proton is a compatibility layer that makes Steam Deck compatible with Windows games on SteamOS, a Linux-powered operating system. Proton Experimental is an ongoing beta branch of Proton, including the latest bug fixes and features ahead of regular releases.
If you already have this layer, your Steam Deck should add the update to your download queue automatically. You can also look for it in the search bar by typing “Proton Experimental” if you don’t yet have it.
