RDNA 4 architecture and 16GB of VRAM
This graphics card is built on RDNA 4 architecture, which boasts several improvements over the previous gen, specifically with ray tracing capabilities, AI-acceleration, improved rasterization, and features like FSR 4, which can be used to push framerates even higher. Where this card comes into its own, especially from a price-to-performance perspective, is with it 16GB of VRAM. Granted, it’s older-gen GDDR6 memory; however, there’s enough of it to handle 4K, ray tracing, and more demanding 3D rendering tasks and video editing easily.
Overclocking and cooling
This card is overclocked out of the box and has a higher 3.06GHz GPU clock speed, alongside enhanced power delivery of 330W. Performance
Based on our review of another RX 9070 XT OC card, we can give you a rough idea of what to expect at 1440p and 4K. In our Cyberpunk 2077 benchmarks at ultra settings, it got 129fps at 1440p, and 51fps with ray tracing enabled. It also managed 61fps at 4K, but dropped down to 25fps with ray tracing. That’s pretty impressive considering we weren’t using FSR 4, and Cyberpunk 2077 is particularly demanding to run at max settings. Other, less demanding titles showed seriously impressive performance, such as Doom Eternal, which hit 249fps at 1440p and a very high 154fps at 4K, both with ray tracing enabled.

Is this graphics card for you?
If you’re looking for something great for 1440p and 4K gaming, and a solid, oftentimes cheaper, alternative to the RTX 5070 Ti, then this is a great card to go for. One consideration to make is when it comes to AI-assisted workloads, however, where Nvidia’s 50-series does tend to have the edge, thanks to its advanced CUDA, Tensor, and ray tracing cores. If you’re going for something that can be used as much for gaming as it can be for demanding creative tasks, then spending a touch more and going for an RTX 5070 Ti may be your best bet.
