Playdate handheld is about to start Season 2, with 12 new games now available for pre order

One of the more unique handhelds out there is the Playdate. A square, yellow, pocket-sized Gameboy-esque device with a crank, cutting back any colorful modern games, but instead offering a trip back in time with grayscale games with unique gameplay features.
Well, now it’s getting its second season of games, a weekly release of two games downloaded straight to your device. After an initial launch of 24 games in its first season, it has now announced Season Two games to add to the vast collection. It doesn’t come free, though, as now you have to pay $39 for the next collection of games (now available for pre-order). It is the only method of getting them, as they won’t be available in the store.
Starting on May 29th, the games will begin to get delivered to your device as long as it’s connected to the internet and you have bought the next season pack, which looks to have some exciting games lined up.
Season 2 Playdate games

Out of the 12 games, Panic has highlighted four of them to show off what’s on the way. That includes a game from Subset Games, the makers of FTL: Faster Than Light and Into The Breach. Fulcrum Defender is a game that utilizes the crank to train your aiming skills and survive in the arcade action game.
Dig Dig Dino! is about living out your palaeontological dreams like in Jurassic World and digging out dinosaur bones and plenty of other treasures. Certainly a lot more relaxing game to enjoy while doing something else, without reactions required to play.
Taria & Como is a physics-based puzzle platformer that is based on momentum and swinging around the levels to find the right path and reach your objective.
The last of the previews is for Shadowgate PD, which is a point and click adventure of old brought to newer hardware, ported from NES, Gameboy Color, and N64.
