If you’ve been thinking about buying a prebuilt gaming PC, now might be the best time to do so. RAM prices have been rising fast, and many custom PC builders have struggled to upgrade as a result. Even SSD prices have increased, making things even harder for anyone planning to build or upgrade a PC.

Now, some of the biggest gaming PC brands are starting to warn customers about price hikes. One of the first companies to speak up was CyberPowerPC. The company shared a detailed statement explaining how bad the situation has become. According to them, global RAM prices have gone up by 500%, and SSD prices have increased by 100% since October 1st. These massive increases have had a direct impact on the cost of building gaming PCs.

CyberPowerPC is adjusting prices for “all systems” in December

Because of this, CyberPowerPC will start adjusting prices on all its systems starting December 7, 2025. They said they understand that this is not the best timing, especially with the holidays coming up, but they want to be honest and transparent with their community.

CyberPowerPC also gave customers a clear idea of how much prices will rise. A system with a 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM will cost $80 more, while a system with a 2TB SSD and 32GB of RAM will cost $160 more after the price adjustment. They also stressed that they absorbed as much of the cost as possible before passing the rest on to consumers. The company added that this price increase is temporary. When the market stabilizes and component prices drop again, their system prices will also go back down. Their main message was simple: they will always try to give their customers the best value.

Another well-known brand, MAINGEAR, has also shared similar concerns. In an interview with Wccftech, the company’s CEO said that they have already seen DRAM prices skyrocket due to shortages. They are trying their best to avoid raising prices for customers, but they can only hold off for so long.

“For consumers that are interested in getting a new PC or upgrading their current system’s GPU, SSD or RAM, they should consider shopping now and looking for offerings that have not seen price increases yet. MAINGEAR is offering pre-built units for Black Friday right now that were sheltered from these price increases.”

Wallace Santos, Maingear CEO

MAINGEAR has been stockpiling RAM, SSDs, and GPUs to keep their current Black Friday and holiday deals stable. However, once their stock runs out, they will have to buy new parts at the much higher market prices. That means a price increase is almost guaranteed. Because of this, MAINGEAR’s CEO encouraged users to take advantage of the current deals before any changes happen.

Overall, the message from both brands is clear. If you want to upgrade your PC, Black Friday might be your last chance to get good prices before costs rise again. With RAM and SSD prices climbing so quickly, gamers may want to act sooner rather than later.
