Table of Contents
This excellent Cobratype Ghost RTX 5080 gaming PC has a huge $600 discount over at Newegg, which has dropped its price from $3,499.99 to $2,899.99. Cobratype gaming PCs always deliver the goods when it comes to design, and from our experience, they also get some very enticing discounts, which make them great value, too. Notably, with this build, you’ve got the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, which is designed with high-end, high fps gaming performance in mind. On top of this, there’s your standard, but still welcome, 32GB of DDR5 and 2TB SSD, both of which are ideal for most people, without being overkill or driving the price of this build up too high. Overall, this gaming PC is a bit of a beast, and a stylish one at that, and we think it’s well worth considering while it’s got such a hefty discount.
Cobratype Ghost Gaming PC – RTX 5080
Key features of this Cobratype Ghost Gaming PC
RTX 5080 graphics card & Nvidia Blackwell architecture
This graphics card is one of the very best you can buy for 4K gaming and demanding creative workloads, like 3D rendering. It has a massive 10,752 CUDA cores, 16GB of new and improved GDDR7 VRAM, and a large 256-bit bus. It’s also built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which means it features 4th-gen ray tracing and 5th-gen tensor cores, both of which offer significant performance improvements in their respective areas. On top of that, there are exclusive 50-series features, like multi-frame generation and 9th-gen Nvidia Encoder. Read our full RTX 5080 FE review for a deeper dive.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor
Arguably the best gaming CPU on the market right now, especially from a price-to-performance perspective. This processor has a decent core and thread count, and a high boost clock speed, but it’s really the 3D V-cache that makes it stand apart from the crowd. This second-generation 3D V-cache is designed in a way that it holds far more data than your standard CPU’s setup. The L3 cache on this is a massive 96MB, which dramatically reduces frame latency and improves performance at higher framerates. Read our review for more details.
Storage and RAM
You’ve got a decent 32GB of DDR5 RAM in this build, which is enough to handle demanding creative applications, beefy system requirements, and heavier multitasking. It also features a 2TB SSD, which is pretty standard with an RTX 5080 prebuild. This can hold a pretty substantial gaming library without the need to constantly manage your storage.
Things to consider
The only thing to really consider here is whether you want to go for a different processor or not. In short, the 9800X3D is great for gaming, but something from the Intel Core Ultra lineup would be better for multitasking and content creation. We’ve spotted RTX 5080, Intel Core Ultra 7-265K prebuilds for just under $2,500 in the sales recently, so these could be well worth looking at if you’re after something better suited to hybrid usage.
