What we like about this Velztorm iCUE gaming PC
Powerhouse GPU and CPU combo for gaming
This build features one of the all-time best graphics cards for gaming, the RTX 5090, and the still-impressive Ryzen 9 7900X. First off, the RTX 5090 is a beast when it comes to 4K gaming, thanks to its massive CUDA core count, high boost clock speed, and hefty 32GB of GDDR7 memory. It’s also built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, hence the new and improved VRAM, and features like DLSS 4, with multi-frame generation. In our testing of an RTX 5090, we saw it achieve very impressive framerates at 4K ultra settings, with ray tracing enabled. Highlights included 60fps in Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing, and a jump from 135fps to 305fps with F1 24 at max settings in 4K. The Ryzen 9 7900X was released back in 2022, but still stands up as one of the best CPUs for gaming, and a very capable ‘jack of all trades’ option, too. It has a high core and thread count of 12 and 24, with a very high boost clock speed of 5.6GHz, and a large 64MB L3 cache. It’s designed primarily with gaming in mind, and a good pairing with the RTX 5090, but it’s also a good option for multitasking and productivity, too. You can read our full 4.5-star review here.
Excellent RAM and storage
This build features a massive 64GB of DDR5 RAM and a large 2TB SSD. This amount of RAM is going to be ideal if you’re playing open-world games, running RAM-intensive applications, and if you’re looking for a more responsive overall computing experience. Its 2TB SSD is also the ideal size for both large gaming libraries and hybrid usage. It’s a good option if you want to store video footage and games without it filling up too quickly.
Other standout features
You’ve got an excellent 1000W PSU providing ample and steady power to this system, alongside a RGB 240mm AIO cooling solution to keep everything running at its best. On top of that, even though this build is smaller inside, the case itself is designed to maximize airflow thanks to its numerous fans and abundant ventilation.
Considerations and alternatives
At this price point, this PC is actually more towards the expensive end when it comes to RTX 5090 prebuilds. One consideration you may want to factor in is the CPU choice. It’s a great processor, but if you’re going for something more recently released and with a larger L3 cache, you may want to lean towards a build with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. That’s especially so if you’re looking for an all-out gaming machine. For hybrid usage, such as content creation and gaming, we’d say this build is great, though.
