A new leak suggests AMD is preparing another RX 9000 series graphics card. It has been a dry year in terms of GPU launches, not just for AMD, but for Nvidia too, as Team Green also had no new hardware to offer at CES in January. That drought may soon be over, as the fresh leak reveals plans for a Radeon RX 9050 desktop graphics card to sit below the existing RX 9060 SKU.

On the bright side, Computex is just around the corner – in early June – and we’ve already heard rumors of Nvidia bringing new 9GB RTX 5060 cards into the fray. The supposed RX 9050 will be a step below those, likely boasting a much cheaper price tag, though that kind of information is yet to be revealed.

AMD Radeon RX 9050 specs revealed in latest leak

This leak is an exclusive from VideoCardz, so there’s no additional source to work with right now. According to the publication, the RX 9050 will be using a Navi 44 chip with 2,048 stream processors (the same as the RX 9060 XT), albeit with a lower clock speed. For comparison, the RX 9060, which is only available in prebuilt (OEM) systems, has just 1,792 cores to its name.

SpecificationAMD Radeon RX 9050

Boost clockup to 2,600 MHz
Bus standardPCIe 5.0 x16
Display connectivityHDMI 2.1b (1x), DisplayPort 2.1a (x2)

Based on the leaked specs above, the Radeon RX 9050 has 24% lower clock speeds than the RX 9060 XT reference specifications, which offer a 2,530 MHz game clock and up to 3,130 MHz boost clock, presenting a 24% and 17% difference, respectively. The 8GB GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus is listed with 288 GB/s bandwidth, matching the non-XT RX 9060.

This information should be taken with a grain of salt, but it’s interesting timing for a fresh GPU leak. Computex will be taking place between June 2 and June 5, so we now expect to hear more about this entry-level model during the conference in Taipei. AMD GPU users haven’t had too much to cheer about lately, though FSR may finally be getting Multi Frame Generation soon.
