Razer now has its own Remote Play app with automatic scaling for resolution and refresh rate

Razer has finally launched its platform for streaming games from your PC to mobile devices, allowing you to play your favorite titles on any device without having to pay a monthly fee for cloud storage services. Of course, Razer PC Remote Play isn’t the only app offering this, as Steam has provided similar functionality for six years. However, Razer’s app has a neat trick: It automatically adjusts the game’s resolution, aspect ratio, and refresh rate to match your mobile device.
Razer PC Remote Play was first announced at CES 2025, and after extensive beta testing, the company has finally released the app for everyone to use. Razer says the launch version now includes the “AV1 video codec for improved quality and lower latency,” along with support for the Razer Kishi Ultra and all controllers compatible with iOS and Android. The app is compatible with Windows, iOS/iPadOS, and Android mobile devices running at least Windows 11, iOS 18, and Android 14, respectively.
Setting up the Razer PC Remote Play
To get started with Razer PC Remote Play, you’ll need to install the Razer Cortex game launcher on your PC, which now has a redesigned interface and supports titles from multiple storefronts, including Steam, Epic Games, and Microsoft’s PC Game Pass. Mobile devices will also need the Razer Nexus game launcher (Play Store and App Store), along with the new Razer PC Remote Play app. From there, enable Remote Play within Razer Cortex, sign in to your account, and you should be good to go.
Note that there are recommended bandwidth requirements for Razer PC Remote Play. According to Razer, for ideal play, a bandwidth of over 30 Mbps is recommended, with 15 Mbps as the minimum requirement. Additionally, your PC and mobile device must be on the same network for initial pairing, but afterward, it should be playable on cellular or other Wi-Fi networks.

That said, people using the Kishi Ultra with Android devices will benefit from Razer’s Sensa HD Haptics feature, and when streaming PC games to the iPad, the Razer PC Remote Play app is fully compatible with connected keyboards, mice, and trackpads.
