A fan-made VR mod for Ready or Not that was announced a few months back was simply revealed to be “coming soon” – with the blessing of the official devs. The initial hype may have died down for those watching from the outside, but now it can be fueled again, as the release date will soon be revealed.

This is an ‘announcement of an announcement’ type deal, as the release date will be announced on November 13 as part of the VR Games Showcase for Fall 2025. Tactical SWAT first-person shooter Ready or Not seems like the perfect title for a VR adaptation, given its focus on immersive gameplay and gritty realism, so this mod is an exciting prospect for any VR headset owner.

Ready or Not VRO Mod will be featured at VR Games Showcase

The development of this mod, officially called the Ready or Not VRO Mod, is co-created by popular VR YouTuber Virtual Reality Oasis. You can call him Mike if you prefer. Ready or Not VRO Mod will be featured at the upcoming VR Games Showcase at 9 AM Pacific Time on November 13.

If you’re interested in the development of the Ready or Not VRO Mod, then we recommend checking out the official Discord server for developer updates, FAQs, an installation guide, and more. A progress update video was also released a couple of weeks ago. It’s worth noting that this mod will be completely free of charge – you just need to own the base game on Steam to play, and have it installed on your gaming PC. It’s not available as a standalone title.

Keep in mind that (so far) the mod is developed by a two-person team, consisting of Mike (VRO) and another developer named KITT, but progress seems to be coming along quite nicely. Here’s a list of existing and planned features:

• Custom hand gestures for squad commands – hold and on me
• Full custom body rig with ammo and equipment pouches
• Manual reloading mechanics
• Working radio
• Custom VR tablet for mission status, mod options and customisations for a better VR experience
• Working equipment – Optiwand, Battering Ram and Riot Shield
• Custom VR door interactions – push with hands or direct action with icons

Plans for the future;

• All weapon hand poses will have correct alignment
• Support for left handed players
• Working grenades
• Working equipment such as Grenade Launchers
• Resolve multiplayer avatar issues
• Support for more VR controllers
• Loadout customization and level selections screens
