Red Dead Redemption 2 is easily one of the most popular games of all time. It was released in 2018 (with the PC version arriving in 2019), and even after more than six years, it's still played by many thousands (maybe millions) of people around the world. Its popularity doesn't seem to be slowing down either, as it recently saw a rise on Steam Deck after receiving a massive discount.

Red Dead Redemption 2 becomes the eighth most-played game on the Steam Deck

Steam is currently hosting the Zombies vs Vampires Fest sales event. Thanks to it, you can save big on your favorite games. In fact, there are plenty of games that are available for just under $10. One of the games that has been discounted during the event is Red Dead Redemption 2, which is currently available for 75% off. Previously, it was listed at $59.99, but thanks to the discount, you can save $45 and grab it for only $14.99.

The massive 75% discount has helped boost the game’s popularity on the Steam Deck. If you check the Steam Deck Top Played charts, you'll find Red Dead Redemption 2 in the 8th spot this past week, just above the recently released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The game has climbed four positions to reach this spot, and we might expect it to rise even higher next week, as the discount is likely to attract more Steam Deck owners.

If you haven't played Red Dead Redemption 2 yet, now is the perfect time to give it a try, especially if you're a fan of massive open-world games packed with content. The main campaign takes around 50 hours to complete, but if you're aiming for 100% completion, expect to spend about 188 hours.

Also, keep in mind that the discount is available until June 2nd, so be sure to grab it before it returns to its original price. The first game in the series, Red Dead Redemption, was also released for PC in October 2024 after more than a decade of waiting, and it’s available for $49.99 on Steam.
