It has been almost a week since the release of the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X. If you missed the pre-order period, which kicked off in late September, you may have some trouble finding the flagship Ally X model – the cheaper non-X model generally has a healthy amount of stock. For gamers in the UK looking for this handheld, popular retailer Currys now has it in stock.
We already saw that the ROG Ally X sold out on official storefronts (Microsoft and ASUS), with Best Buy remaining a good place to buy the flagship handheld in the U.S. It’s the same in the UK, where both official stores currently don’t stock the Ally X – in fact, the Microsoft doesn’t carry it at all – but you can now turn your attention to Currys, where it’s available for £799.00.

So, since you can’t pick it up directly from ASUS, head over to Currys instead. The retailer also allows you to pay in monthly installments (12 months, 24 months, or 36 months), but do be warned that there’s a 29.9% interest rate applied to that. In other words, it’s not really worth it. If you truly don’t have the cash right now, the best option is the ‘Pay later’ option, which is interest-free for up to 12 months.
The high price point of the ROG Xbox Ally X was a point of contention in reviews; however, this handheld arrives as one of the most powerful on the market. Microsoft’s president says ASUS was responsible for the pricing of the device.
