Anyone holding out for a solid deal on the RTX 5070 in the U.S. might want to head on over to Best Buy right now. At the time of writing, Best Buy has a solid deal on Nvidia’s mid-range 50 series card, allowing you to take it home for less than $500. This graphics card is an ideal pick for 1440p gaming, or 4K at a push.

The RTX 5070 has an MSRP of $549, with third-party models generally costing more, especially when factory overclocked. For instance, the Gigabyte RTX 5070 Gaming OC usually costs around $630. However, if you don’t mind getting an open-box GPU, then you can snag this same model for as little as $456.99 on Best Buy.

Is this open-box RTX 5070 a good deal?

There are currently two open box models being sold by Best Buy. The first one is in ‘Excellent’ condition and costs $488.99. According to Best Buy, ‘Excellent’ condition cards work and look like new, and they also include all accessories.

But for those who want to save even more money, you can opt for the ‘Good’ condition model, which is available for $456.99. ‘Good’ condition products work like new but may have minor scratches or dents, and might be missing some non-essential parts, accessories, or packaging.

As there is a difference of only $29 between the two models, we would highly recommend opting for the ‘Excellent’ condition model. You’ll still be saving around $120 compared to a brand-new model.

The RTX 5070 is a great mid-range card, capable of delivering excellent performance in 1440p gaming. It comes packed with 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM and 6,144 CUDA cores. We haven’t reviewed this exact model from Gigabyte, but we have reviewed a factory overclocked RTX 5070 – MSI’s Gaming Trio, to be specific. You can see how it performed for gaming below.

One of the reassuring things about Best Buy’s open box program is the fact that the retailer offers the same Returns and Exchange Promise for open-box products as its brand-new products. So, if you find a fault, you can quickly send it within the return window.
