ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2025) Gaming Laptop – NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5080
What we like about this ASUS ROG Strx G16 laptop
Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor
This is a powerhouse CPU that’s often found in the very best gaming laptops on the market, and it’s great for gaming, productivity, AI-accelerated tasks, and creative workloads. It features a hefty core and thread count of 24 and 24, which makes it excellent for multitasking, and has a large 36MB L3 cache and fast boost clock speed of 5.4GHz, which lends itself well for gaming and other single-core focused tasks. On top of that, it features a dedicated NPU with 13 TOPS.
RTX 5080 mobile
One of the best graphics cards for the money, and often a preferred choice to the RTX 5090 when it comes to its price-to-performance ratio, the RTX 5080 is a real powerhouse. Not only does it have a hefty 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM, but it’s also built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell Architecture, which boasts a wide range of improvements to both performance and efficiency. With advanced ray tracing cores, tensor cores, and new features like DLSS 4 and MFG, this is the type of graphics card you’ll want for both high-resolution gaming at max settings and handling complex digital rendering and demanding creative workflows, too.
Nebula display
ASUS ROG Neubla displays are essentially high-end mini-LED panels, which boast incredible color, contrast, and brightness. Screens like the one here are excellent for both creatives and gamers, allowing for high fps gameplay, but also accurate editing thanks to their wide color range. This one comes in at 2.5K resolution, which on a 16-inch screen will look super sharp.
Advanced cooling and sleek design
You’ve got ROG intelligent cooling here, which features a large vapor chamber, tri-fan technology, and liquid metal on the chipset to whisk away heat, and do so without too much noise. In terms of design, this laptop has a wrap-around lightbar that’s fully customizable, adding some visual flair. This can also be turned off if you want to enter Stealth mode, for more professional surroundings.

Who’s this deal for?
Go for this laptop if you’re looking for a great portable powerhouse for gaming and creative work, and have the budget to spare. It’s a good option if you’re a content creator, and will serve you well with video editing, especially thanks to the RTX 5080 mobile, various Nvidia drivers, AI capabilities, and a large amount of VRAM, all of which should result in a much less laggy experience when using some of the most common creative applications. If you’re only planning on doing some light creative work, you may be better off with something with less VRAM; however, that would also impact gaming performance. That being said, you could save a fair chunk of cash by doing so.
