The Radeon RX 9070 XT has been AMD's most successful graphics card in many years. With the rumored official announcement of the next entry in the series coming soon, Team Red still seems to be aiming to challenge Nvidia on the clock speed front.

There have been a few rumors about the anticipated specifications of the RX 9060 XT already, but the latest comes from respected hardware leaker Momomo_US on Twitter/X. This new data includes information on what clock speeds we can expect from AMD's new card, and it looks like the RX 9060 XT will have a higher clock speed than the RX 9070 non-XT model.

RX 9060 XT clock speeds leaked

Previous data has suggested that the AMD Navi 44 GPU could support higher clock frequencies, and this leak seems to confirm this theory. The leak indicates that clock speeds could go as high as 3,320 MHz, while game clock speeds could top out at 2,780 MHz. This indicates that the 9060 XT’s game clock may be higher than the non-XT 9070’s boost clock. The 3.32GHz clock speed is also higher than the current flagship XT variant, which reaches 3.1GHz in its fastest variants.

For comparison, the ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT OC we reviewed had 1,660MHz, 2,400MHz, and 2,970 MHz base, game, and boost clock speeds, respectively.

One other notable point from the leak is that the Navi 44 GPU is using a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface instead of the expected x8 version. This is likely due to an anticipated performance drop when using only eight lanes on PCIe 4.0 systems. This performance drop has already been seen to affect the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB model.

Though not officially confirmed, analysts expect that AMD will launch the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex, where we will hopefully learn the full specification, performance, and pricing details.
