Ryzen 7 9800X3D combo bundle at Micro Center saves you more than $100, perfect for your AM5 upgrade
Table of Contents
Micro Center's hardware bundles are great for anyone wishing to kickstart their new PC build. We’ve spotted this fantastic bundle featuring one of the best CPUs for gaming, AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The 2-in-1 9800X3D bundle includes two key components, with more than $100 to be saved.
While the two components will cost you $634.98 if you buy them individually, Micro Center is selling them bundled together for only $529.99. This is a straight $104.99 discount, which you can invest in other components, like one of the best power supplies for gaming, or a new SSD.
What does the bundle offer?
This 2-in-1 bundle is perfect for anyone upgrading to AM5. The bundle comes with a processor and motherboard, and you can add RAM to the mix if you want to keep the savings going and turn it into a 3-in-1 bundle; this will up the price tag, but all three components are compatible with each other. Here’s everything you need to know.
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D

For starters, the bundle comes equipped with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, which is one of the best processors available for gaming on the market. It is the successor of the 7800X3D, and in our hands-on review, we were impressed by its performance, which is why we gave it 5 out of 5 marks.
The processor comes with 8 cores and 16 threads, paired with a base clock speed of 4.7 GHz. However, this can be boosted up to 5.2 GHz, which makes it a great choice for CPU-intensive tasks. Aside from that, it has 96 MB of L3 Cache, and even with all this power, it has a fairly low TDP of 120W. However, to make sure the temps stay low, we still recommend pairing it with one of the best CPU coolers for the 9800X3D.
Motherboard: ASUS B650E-E TUF Gaming

For the motherboard, Micro Center has included the ASUS B650E-E TUF Gaming. This motherboard features a sleek look. It has an all-black theme with a touch of silver, making it great for those who don't really care for flashy RGB components.
As far as the specifications are confirmed, this board offers an 8+2 VRAM structure for stable power draw. For storage, there are three M.2 SSD slots, but you can also connect up to four standard HDDs using SATA 6GB/s ports. One of the M.2 slots is also PCIe 5.0, which helps deliver much better speeds and performance compared to the previous 4.0 gen platform.
For connectivity, you'll get eight ports on the rear and seven on the front, which will be more than enough for most users. As you’d expect, there's also a 2.5GB Ethernet port.
32GB DDR5 RAM (optional)
Micro Center provides two different RAM options for this bundle. First is the Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB DDR5 kit, which can reach a max speed of up to 6,000 MHz, and will set you back an additional $200. The second one is the G.Skill FlareX5 32GB DDR5 kit. While it offers the same speed, it doesn't offer any fancy RGB lights, which is why it also costs $10 less than the Corsair kit.
We’re used to seeing these bundles come with the RAM as standard, rather than as an optional extra, but given the recent price hikes for DDR5 RAM lately, it’s perhaps a good thing that Micro Center is separating it right now. Even still, bundling this RAM with your CPU and motherboard combo will still net you some savings.
Why should I get this deal?
The big selling point of this deal is the 9800X3D. It’s rated by many as the best gaming CPU for good reason. On its own, Micro Center currently sells the 9800X3D for $439.99 (this is already down from its original $479.99 price tag), so grabbing this bundle already saves you a good chunk of cash on the Ryzen 7 chip. We put the 9800X3D through our in-house tests in our testing lab, and you can see some benchmarks below if you want to see how it performance.
