Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim rumours suggest we won’t be seeing its arrival for months
Table of Contents
Everyone’s excited waiting for the big reveal of the new Samsung S25 range at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, however, the rumored fourth entry in the lineup (after the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra) will apparently not be coming until a later time. This is of course the Galaxy S25 Slim, which the majority of commentators believe will be landing a couple of months after the rest of the lineup in Q2 2025.
First of all model number believed to be linked to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim was spotted on the GSMA IMEI database back in November which indicated a May release, then more recently we’ve had reputable leakers pointing towards Q2 2025, and more specifically May 2025. The biggest piece of evidence that the phone won’t be coming out as early as the other models is a leaked promotional video for the Unpacked Event (now taken down) which appeared on Android Headlines which showed all other entries in the series, except for the Slim.

The other answer could of course be that the Slim won’t be releasing at all, but given the wait of leaks and rumors about it, including the specification info we’ll discuss below, we think this is less likely.
How will the Galaxy S25 Slim differ from the other phones?
There’s been less info regarding the specs and pricing of the S25 Slim compared to the other models, but we’ve pieced together the various leaks and rumors.
Respected tipster @Onleaks via SmartPrix dug up some renders of the new Slim model (so they claim), which you can see above, along with providing some info as to the specifications. Interestingly the dimensions aren’t that much thinner than those expected for the S25 (70.5m x 146.9 x 7.2mm), although their may be an ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) telophoto lens, which would be more compact and reduce the profile. Additionally @Gadgetsdata has come up with what they claim to be the camera specs for the new model. We’ve combined both below in the following specifications list:
- Screen size: 6.66 – 6.80 inches (unconfirmed)
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite (unconfirmed)
- Cameras: 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP telephoto (possibly ALoP design) with 3.5x optical zoom (unconfirmed)
- Dimensions: 159 x 76 x 6.4mm (unconfirmed)
The general consensus among tech journalists covering this for a pricing estimate is that it will be ‘more than the S25+ but less than the S25 Ultra’. If this is true it probably means it will land somewhere in the $1,100-$1,200 mark, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Will the Galaxy S25 Slim release in the US?
According to Evan Blass (as reported by phonearena), there’s a chance that the Galaxy S25 Slim might not even be hitting US markets, according to some leaked information he came across from an inside source. The information in question is a list of countries in which the new phone, also referred to as the Galaxy S25 Special Edition, will be launched in, but a few countries are conspicuous by their absence, including the US, Canada, Germany, Spain, and even South Korea.
One the one hand, it’s possible that Samsung may be doing a limited release in countries they think are more likely to buy the S25 Slim, before ramping up production and expanding it to other regions. On the other hand, it seems unlikely that Samsung wouldn’t release this phone in their home country of South Korea, given they sometimes release phones only there and not elsewhere e.g. the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. As a result we are somewhat sceptical of this leak, but we’ll have to wait and see. Below is the list of 39 countries that are apparently ‘confirmed’ to be receiving the phone:

- Australia
- Austria
- Brazil
- Caucasus
