Hopefully, this has put it into perspective by how much the 990 EVO Plus outperforms the 990 EVO. According to Samsung, the 990 EVO Plus is 45% faster and 73% more efficient than the 990 EVO. They tested this SSD with a Ryzen 9 7950X, 4,800 MHz DDR5 RAM, and an ASRock X670E Taichi motherboard.
A massive difference between the two SSDs is that the 990 EVO Plus has a maximum storage capacity of 4TB, double that of the 990 EVO. It also has a better thermal design with nickel-coated controllers, meaning less heat is generated, which extends the SSD's life and prevents it from overheating, resulting in optimal performance.
So, if you're planning on getting your hands on this lightning-fast SSD for gaming or work, you also have Samsung's Magician software, which this SSD is compatible with. Through this software, you should be able to easily migrate your data from the old SSD to the new one, monitor its health, update its firmware, and optimize it.
